Company Profile
Defas Engineering was founded in 2016 as a partnership between Mutlu Cenk Sürmen and Bener Kurt, as part of Sai Enerji’s strategic growth vision. We started out in a modest 200 m² workshop in Eskişehir, determined to serve industrial facilities to the highest engineering and quality standards. That first-day vision is the foundation of what we have become: an organisation delivering projects on a global scale.

Our Journey
- 2016
Laying the Foundations
We began operating in our first 200 m² production space, set up to bring high-standard engineering solutions to industrial facilities in and around Eskişehir.
- 2017
Quality Recognised: Supplier of the Year
In our first year in the sector, our performance and our approach to quality earned us the “Supplier of the Year” award from Knauf Insulation, a world leader in insulation.
- 2018
Entering Advanced Technology and Aerospace
Deepening our engineering vision, we joined the design team for critical aerospace test systems of which there are only a handful in the world, and successfully delivered the installation and commissioning of those advanced systems.
- 2019
A Major Step in Petrochemicals
We expanded our production capacity through strategic investment in petrochemical facilities in Yalova. With the capability gained in this period we began working directly with Türkiye’s largest oil refinery and petrochemical company, proving ourselves in mechanical systems and steel structures.
- 2020
Formal Accreditation: The EPDK Licence
We crowned our engineering standards with formal accreditation by obtaining our EPDK (Energy Market Regulatory Authority) licence, which authorises us to take on natural gas conversion and infrastructure projects for industrial facilities — work that demands a high level of expertise.
- 2021
The European Market and Global Reach
We took our engineering capability across borders. Entering the European market, we successfully completed the installation of major industrial facilities to international standards in Belgium, the United Kingdom, Slovenia, Austria and Romania.
- 2024
Trusted Partner to Global Brands
We became the official installation supplier across Türkiye for a global world leader in plastics processing and industrial automation equipment.
- 2025
Moving to a Major Production Base
In keeping with our goals and our growing vision, we moved into our own modern, state-of-the-art and fully equipped 3,500 m² production facility.
